When you are looking for a job, developing your business, or establishing your expert reputation, your online presence matters more than ever. Employers and clients will google search you, judge you, and form an opinion about you well before inviting you for an interview or meeting.
Take control over this. What we think of ourselves and how people actually perceive us can be 2 very different things, so investing time and effort in building your personal brand online should be a must-do.
Start with this:
✳️ Your reputation is everything. You can have a perfect resume, but if your online presence says otherwise, the damage can be huge. Analyze your social media objectively.
✳️ Make sure your high-profile social media accounts – LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, are fully polished, optimized and reveal what you want them to reveal.
✳️ Make sure your online presence leaves the impression of you as a reliable professional, be honest with yourself – are you giving the impression of a desirable employee? Would you hire yourself?
If you’re not happy with the answer, do something about it. It’s never too soon to start.
