Since the beginning of the year, I’ve read dozens of resumes, and only roughly 10% of them required a minor improvement.
The rest had significant shortcomings, and here are the top 9 mistakes I see that make resumes fail:
🟥 Not having a professional title under your name or having an unrelated title to the targeted jobs
🟥 Not including both hard and soft skills in the competencies
🟥 Not including professional results and accomplishments
🟥 Poorly organized sections, difficult to skim and find relevant info
🟥 Strange formatting, grammar and spelling mistakes
🟥 Having an odd, blurred photo
🟥 Having 4 or more pages
🟥 Using an odd, flashy, poor quality design
